So Paul and Joan arrived today while I was dutifully in class. Mathew went to the airport and helped them across town to our dorms where they got a room for the next two nights after which we will be leaving for a two week stint around Europe (I'm not sure what our blog will be doing for those two weeks). We went out to eat and I this is what I had.
Yes, this is Tartar Steak, the food recommended to me by Clint. In case the picture doesn't give it away, that is a large scoop of raw meat in the middle, quite similar in texture to ground beef. And yes, that is a raw egg on top of it surrounded by a mustard sauce, salt, and several other spices. Mix it all together and what do you get? An interesting spread to put on eight slices of buttery bread. While it was good, I don't think I liked it quite as well as Clint did.
After supper, we walked around town with P & J. Mathew and I have class tomorrow from 9:15 until 4, so P & J will be on their own for a chunk of the day.

woohoo--hope the bed bugs are leaving you alone now and glad your new visitors are better :) thanks for posting pics of me ma & pa and enjoy your 2 weeks of vacation!! you can add stefanie kuenzi, our cousin with whom you'll meet in Switzerland, to facebook, btw! She's in some of Darwin's pictures.
Glad to see P & J made it safely! That food looks disgusting; can't imagine how raw meat and raw egg could make a good mixture uncooked. Have an amazing 2 weeks and post lots when you get back!!!
