On the 19th, the Kunzi's drove us up into the mountains to a secluded valley where only landowners are allowed to go. They have an old house up there that has been passed down in their family for generations. The house was built in 799 and is still standing.

We wandered around for a while up in the valley stopping for coffee at a small cafe and then going to barn and hotel where Ueli and Marianne held their wedding reception. After we drove back to Kandersteg, we took a gondola up the mountain right next to their house to a restaurant with an incredible view. We dined there while enjoying the views.

Paul and Ueli meandered their way down the mountain which took a majority of the afternoon. The rest of us cheated and took the gondola back down and had a very relaxing afternoon: some took naps, some went shopping, and some read. After a snack and supper, we shared stories from the past while enjoying our last evening together. Matt humored us all with the Onion story. If you haven't heard it, you should ask him sometime.

The next morning we got on a train (way to early) to Denmark for a business meeting that Paul had. After sitting on trains until ten that evening and meeting up with a business contact in Hannover, Germany, we finally arrived. The guy we stayed with holds the world record for the most woodcocks (a type of bird) shot. He will be in the Guinness Book of World Records next year.

It is obvious based upon the decor of the house that he is a bachelor. The following day, we started the trek to Paris. It took us until the next morning to get there. We spent 36 of 50 hours on trains after leaving Kandersteg before arriving at Paris.

I don't want to come visit now because we've already got plans every weekend from here on out. Plus, if they go in a few years, I may get to come back!!!
