Well, I have to admit that we have done a horrible job at keeping this updated lately. We seemed so overwhelmed when we got so far behind on our 2 week vacation through Europe with mom and dad that it just seemed like a huge mountain to climb to get caught up. So, I think what we decided was to just start posting from where we are at now.

So, this weekend we headed to Munich for a couple of days. The main reason for our trip was to visit Neuschwenstein Castle, which we have both heard was one of, if not, the neatest castles in Europe to see. We left on Friday morning from the bus station around 7 and after a couple of men got booted from our bus at the Czech/Germany border because of having invalid passports/visa's we arrived in Munich around 1 in the afternoon. Once arriving in Munich we had a very interesting 2 hours sitting at the bus station as when we went to buy a metro ticket to take us into the city center we realized that our credit cards did not work and we could not find an ATM machine ANYWHERE! Also stuck there were 2 Australians and 3 kids from Scotland who were experiencing the same problem. Two of the guys went running out into the cold, wind, and rain to see if they could find an ATM to get some cash. Finally, two hours later they made their way back and we were finally able to make it into Munich. By this time, however, it was already dark so we could not see the Munich Olympic Stadium that we were hoping to see on Friday afternoon. We spent Friday evening walking around the city center and all in all, just relaxing. We were actually back to our hostel around 9 and were both pretty tired from a long day.

On Saturday we woke up early to catch the first train from Munich to Fussen, Germany, a small town that is real close to the castle we were going to see. As you can see from pictures, it was a very neat castle and was actually the castle Disney used when designing their fairy tale castle. It was about a 30 minute walk from the bus stop to the castle and we had plenty of good views while walking up the trail of the Bavarian Alps among other things. It was also the first snow that we had experienced in Europe and really made the view that much better! Around 1 in the afternoon, we left on a train to go back to Munich where we went and saw the 1980 Olympic Stadium that was very unique in Architecture! It was designed to look like sheets of glass as you can probably see from pictures.

This week, Brady and I have our 2nd test of the semester. As is common here in Europe, there isn't a whole lot of tests and homework throughout the semester, but they usually hit you somewhat hard at the end of the semester with tests, essays, and presentations so we might actually have to spend some time studying these last 4 weeks here!

Here are some pics from this past weekend.

Hey guys--
Tara told me that you guys were in London and I am so jealous! I hope you get the chance to see the changing of the guards, go up the London Eye(even though we didn't get to)and (mitch says...)go to see King's Cross 9 3/4. I loved London and hope you guys are having a great time. You both look so much "older" than you did just a couple months ago. Maybe that is what being away from home will do to you. God bless--Heidi
