We headed to Kondersteg, Switzerland on Thursday evening around 6 after meeting Stefanie Kunzi at the train station. It was about an hour and a half train ride from Bern to Kondersteg and it was well dark by the time we arrived that evening. We spent the evening enjoying our first of many delicious meals made by Mariam and we felt that we were treated like kings the entire time we spent at the Kunzi's. They let us stay in their guest house that is attached to their house and it was nicer than any hotel we could have stayed at. Also, we were treated to nice, large breakfasts each morning when we woke up and each evening was capped with an amazing home cooked swiss meal!

Ok, I will stop talking about food...for now! Friday morning we woke up and were completely blown away when we looked outside our bedroom window! Kondersteg is set in a valley that is surrounded by the Alps on each side. What a wonderful of God's Creation! After breakfast, Stefanie took Dad, Mom, Brady, and myself on a hike from their house. It was about an hour to hour and half hike where we celebrated making it with a homemade meal at a restaurant at the top. When we first got to the top, it was completely colouded over, but fortunately while we ate it cleared up enough to see at least part of a lake that was in the valley. The afternoon was filled with shopping and it also consisted of Brady and I going to the rental shop to get some ski's for the following day.

Saturday was one of, if not, my favorite day of our trip! We woke up early (around 5:30 a.m.) to eat another large breakfast before walking to the train station and hopping on a train headed for Saas Fee. Once in Saas Fee we bought out one day ski passes and Stefanie, Adrian, Brady, and I headed up the mountain while our parents were going to wait a while before coming up to the top to see us. We enjoyed a beautiful day of skiing and enjoying the mountains! The weather was nice (upper 40's and sunny). Brady had never skied before, and what a great place learn he had. He also had a good teacher in Stefanie, who teaches kids to ski as a job in the winter. Since we were skiing in late October, it was still the summer season and the only place that had snow was the Glaciers at the top of the mountain. It was fun as it was just wide open skiing, but the runs weren't too terrible long. It would be nice to go back sometime in December sometime and be able to ski more of the mountain, but we'll have to see how it fits into our schedule.

That evening after supper, Mariam entertained us with some of her musical abilities and it was fun to just sit around talking and enjoying each other's company!

Brady, you look like quite the professional skier! :) Is that earlier picture a pic of Lake Lucerne (Luzern? I'm not sure which is English)?
