In case you hadn't noticed, after hours upon hours of uploading and labeling pictures to different photo-uploading sights, we finally figured out how to get all of our pictures into a slideshow right here on our blog.
This morning we had a session with a language professor from the school here who taught us the basics of the Czech language. In comparison to other languages, pronounciation seems much more difficult, but there are only four tenses (one past, one present, two future), so in that aspect it isn't as hard. Either way, we won't be learning the language: it's not wide-spread enough to make it worth the while.
Afterwards, a group of students took advantage of the University taking us out to eat at a relatively nice restaurant near the Old Town Center. The meal was FANTASTIC and now holds the throne for the Best Meal of the Trip Award. It was started with a large bowl of a vegetable-beef-ish soup with a large blob of cream cheese in it. The second course was two slices of roast beef and four dumplings covered in a light gravy. On top of the meat was a lemon and some blueberry-jam-ish sauce. I'd add a picture, but I didn't have my camera.
We stuck around the restaurant visiting with other students from the school for a little while, then headed to the post office to get some stamps. The postage is ra
ther expensive: 18 crowns a piece (depending on the exchange rate, one dollar). There was an ATM there, so we hit it up while we had the opportunity (feel free to donate to the food fund by fowarding funds to bjstrahm@ksu.edu via paypal). We spent the remainder of our day trying to get a rough schedule laid out for the remainder of the time were here for traveling purposes. It looks like we're on for Budapest this weekend!!! Check back for another post on Monday! We look foward to reading your comments.
