It is Saturday night here in Prague and Brady and I are back from a couple days of touring South Moravia with a group from school. The school covered all of our expenses except our drinks when we ate so that included 3 meals, our hotel, bus fare, and tickets to everywhere we went. We figured it was most likely already added into our tuition expense that we already paid so me might as well go on the trip.

It started by meeting outside of our dorm at 8 a.m. when we loaded up on the bus and headed for approx. a 3 hour bus ride to our first destination. We stopped in a small town of Moravsky Krumlov where we toured Alfons Mucha's art gallery. There were many pretty impressive massive paintings there. That took us about an hour and by that time it was time for our first meal in the town of Moravsky Krumlov. It included some very good soup, chicken, saurkraut, and potatoe dumplings.

From there we went to another Moravian town called Mikulov. This is where we stayed overnight and we spent Friday afternoon seeing a castle that had the 2nd largest wine barrel in the world in the cellar. They said that it took 30 years to fill up the drum the first time. We also saw a Jewish Synagogue and inside they had some 4000 tombs that were not buried, but were in special rooms that the church made to house the tombs. It was just a little odd we thought. We also hiked up a couple of hills, one to see "Goat Castle", which was basically in ruins, but did give us a good view of the village. We also hiked up to "Holy Hill" which also gave us an amazing view of not only the city, but of the farmlands in the area. We topped Friday evening with dinner and wine-tasting in a cellar in Mikulov.

Today we went to the city of Breclev for a traditional folk festival. There were many stands that were attempting to sell festival type items (aka useless). There was also a parade where kids were parading in traditional costumes and playing folk songs as they marched. We left the festival around 4 this afternoon and arrived back to Prague around 7:30.

We are hoping to be able to call using skype to listen to the Bern's church services tomorrow so we can feel like we aren't missing out on everything back home.
